Two Call-For-Action Papers Presented By Peoplechart To AHIC
Washington D.C., September 18, 2007 — Peoplechart wishes to express its appreciation to Dr. Eduardo Ortiz, MD, MPH for appearing in person on behalf of
Peoplechart at the Consumer Empowerment Workgroup of the American Health Information Community (AHIC), a steering
committee formed by the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONCHIT), Department of
Health and Human Services.
The purpose of AHIC is to "recommend specific actions to achieve a common interoperability framework for health
IT…" The consumer empowerment workgroup is charged with the prime directive "to make recommendations to gain wide spread
adoption of a personal health records that is easy-to-use, portable, longitudinal, affordable, and consumer-centered."
