Peoplechart Received US Patent Office Approval
For Systems Security Invention
December 27, 2007 San Francisco, California
Peoplechart is proud to announce that it received official issuance of approval from the US Patent
and Trademark Office (USPTO) on December 17 for its systems security invention. The patent entitled,
Method and System for Protecting Information on a Computer System, was submitted by primary inventor,
R. David Holvey, of the Peoplechart team.
An invention is approved if it meets all three of USPTO criteria: (1) uniqueness (no prior
art); (2) not obvious (idea that can be developed with common sense); and (3)
has utility (important, practical use).
"Consumers need assurance that their personal health information is secure when it is available online.
Congratulations to Peoplechart for developing a system that does just that — safeguards patient
information," said Linda Golodner, President Emeritus of the National Consumers League and a member
of the Peoplechart Advisory Board.
"To be granted a patent for the Peoplechart system of protecting information is an official recognition
of both the innovativeness and commitment with which Peoplechart handles system security and patient privacy.
Our customers can be assured that they are working with a company that has leading edge technology for protecting
their personal information while making it accessible through the Internet," said Megan Mok, Founder and CEO of
Peoplechart.
