and Minority-Owned Business
October 10, 2008 San Francisco, California
As of October 1, 2008, Peoplechart received national certification as a Women's Business Enterprise by the
Astra Women's Business Alliance, a regional certifying partner of the Women’s Business Enterprise National
Council (WBENC).
Two months prior August 1, 2008, Peoplechart also received national certification as a minority-owned
business from the Northern California Supplier Development
Council (NCSDC).
"We are extremely pleased to receive both certifications. They will open more doors for Peoplechart
and our project partners in the areas of government, institutional, and corporate relationships and contracts,"
said Megan Mok, Founder and CEO of
Peoplechart Corporation.
About WBENC
WBENC's national standard of certification implemented by the Astra Women's Business Alliance is a meticulous
process including an in-depth review of the business and site inspection. The certification process is designed to
confirm the business is at least 51% owned, operated and controlled by a woman or women. By including women-owned
businesses among their list of vendors, corporations and government agencies demonstrate their commitment to fostering
diversity and the continued development of their supplier/vendor diversity programs.
About NCSDC
The NCSDC is the regional affiliate of the National Minority Supplier Development Council, a network of 39 Councils
linking more than 3,600 corporations and 16,500 minority-owned businesses across the country with the primary goal of
promoting diversity in the marketplace. The NCSDC's mission is to promote increased procurement and business opportunities
for minority businesses and to develop mutually beneficial business relationships between public and private sectors and
minority business enterprises.
